Start your day with a plant-based breakfast
At Scratch Cafe in McNutt and Forest and Scratch Table in Wright, breakfast is served until noon during the week. New this academic year, McNutt, Forest, and Wright will serve weekend brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, with additional options (such as chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos, depending on the location).
Vegan breakfast staples include:
- Cereal with plant-based milk
- Fresh fruit
- Coconut-based yogurt with allergen-free granola
- Breakfast potatoes
- Bagels or toast with jam
- Hot oatmeal with fruit and granola
- Vegan smoothies of the day at Free From IX in McNutt and Worry Free stations in Forest and Wright
- Plant-based eggs by request at Wright
Vegetarian options also include scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast, pastries, mini muffins, and customizable Greek yogurt parfaits.
At Free From IX in McNutt, look for avocado toast, vegan hot cakes, and vegan French toast.
Dietitian tip: IU Dining Registered Dietitian Lauren Bartholomew recommends chia seed pudding or overnight oats with Uproot Oat Milk, berries, and granola for extra fiber and crunch. Look for these options at Worry Free in Forest.
