Bonus Program

IU Dining is offering part-time employees a special bonus of up to $1,000 per academic year, depending upon hire date.* The bonus applies to any part-time employee hired through the IU Dining Hire Me program who meets the requirements.
* $500 per semester. Additional monies are subject to income tax.

To collect $500 in May 2026, qualifying employees must:

  • Be hired by IU Dining and Hospitality prior to Sept. 30, be a returning employee, or be hired during the summer through the "Hire Me" program.
  • Work at assigned location(s) through fall and spring semesters with no break in service.
  • Have no more than three (3) unexcused absences each semester.
  • Have no "no calls" or "no shows," and have no written warnings or final written warnings on file.
  • Work at least two (2) shifts during fall and spring finals weeks with no absences.
  • Work continuously at assigned location for an average of 10 hours/week until the end of the fall semester.

Part-time employees who receive a $500 bonus in December 2025 must have already completed the following:

  • Attended "Hire Me" orientation.
  • Attended all required "Hire Me" trainings and be signed in and out.
  • Worked 16 hours during Welcome Week at their regular work location or at an assigned location, like a picnic or snack/water stations.
  • Work through the fall semester.
  • Have no more than three (3) unexcused absences.
  • Have no "no calls" or "no shows” and no written warnings or final written warnings on file.
  • Worked continuously at assigned location for an average of 10 hours/week without transfer request until the end of the fall semester.

Employees who were hired by Sept. 15, 2025, but did not complete the Hire Me program in the summer of 2025, are eligible for a $300 bonus in December 2025.

Requirements:

  • Work through the fall semester.
  • Be hired by September 15, 2025.
  • Have no more than three (3) unexcused absences and no "no calls" or "no shows” and have no written warnings or final written warnings on file with us.
  • Work continuously at assigned location for an average of 10 hours/week without transfer request until the end of the fall semester.

Refer a Friend

IU Dining and Hospitality is offering a $100 bonus to our current, eligible part-time employees who refer a new part-time employee hired by IU Dining and Hospitality.*

A current, eligible part-time employee who refers a new hire and the new employee referred will each receive a $100 bonus if these conditions are met:

  1. The referring employee is still working for IU Dining and Hospitality when the bonus is disbursed.
  2. The referred applicant share the name of the employee who suggested they apply as they complete the online employment application. To do so, the applicant must select "IU Employee Referral" in response to the supplemental question asking how they learned of the job opportunity.
  3. The applicant and referring employee must both work a minimum of 40 hours from the time the new employee is cleared to begin working.

Other terms and conditions:

  • Referral bonuses will be distributed on the check date of the pay period during which IU Dining and Hospitality has confirmed that the above conditions have been met.
  • Referral bonuses are limited to three (3) per employee per semester.
  • Current IU Dining and Hospitality part-time employees are eligible to participate in the referral bonus program.
  • IU Dining and Hospitality management (including part-time shift supervisors and part-time assistant managers) and appointed IU Dining and Hospitality staff are not eligible to participate.
