Summer 2021 Meal Plan Contract

Indiana University Bloomington 2021 Summer I-BUCKS 60 Meal Plan Contract Terms and Conditions

This contract is between you and IU Dining on behalf of The Trustees of Indiana University. Your acceptance of the terms of this contract is indicated electronically below. If you are under 18 years of age, this contract will not be effective unless your parent or guardian agrees to its terms by submitting the electronic agreement.

Definitions

  1. "Contract Term" means May 11, 2021 – July 30, 2021. IU Dining provides food service during academic sessions with reduced hours and locations during times when in-person classes are not in session. Dining service, including where and how it will be offered to Residents, is subject to the discretion of the University and is subject to modification to address public health or safety concerns. Due to health and safety guidance adopted by the University and/or RPS, RPS may limit the occupancy of dining halls, limit the amount of time students may spend within dining halls, or make other operational adjustments needed related to health and safety concerns (e.g. grab and go meals).
  2. "Cancellation Date" means:
    1. If you are required to have a meal plan and you have cancelled your housing contract,
      • the earlier of the date your housing access is removed and/or you complete Checkout, or
      • f you never occupy your unit, or if you vacate your unit and do not notify the Assignments office in writing, or if you vacate and do not complete Checkout, the Cancellation Date is the day the Assignments office learns that your assigned unit is vacant.
    2. If you are not required to have a meal plan, the date that you request that your meal plan be cancelled.
  3. “Operational costs” means operating expenses associated with meal plans including but not limited to materials, labor, utilities, etc. and are identified on our website at dining.indiana.edu. If you cancel your meal plan, operational costs are part of the cancellation fee.

I-BUCKS Plan

The purchase price of all meal plans includes the payment of operational costs and I-BUCKS. The meal plans are noted below. In consideration for contracted dining services, the student agrees to pay IU Dining the rates specified for the student's selected meal plan, as announced, or as they may be adjusted by, the Indiana University Board of Trustees.

  1. the Summer session. There are two contribution levels for Summer: Standard ($500) and Plus ($700). RPS Summer residents are not required to have a meal plan.
  2. I-BUCKS may be used at any IU Dining location. A full list of IU Dining locations can be found at dining.indiana.edu. I-BUCKS cannot be used for alcohol, gratuity, gift card, or gift shop non-food/drink purchases. I-BUCKS 60 plans provide a sixty percent (60%) discount off retail prices.
  3. You may change your meal plan to another eligible plan prior to May 1, 2021. These changes can be made online.
  4. Any I-BUCKS remaining on an I-BUCKS plan at the end of the Contract Term are valid through December 30, 2021.
  5. You are responsible for reporting a lost or stolen CrimsonCard storing I-BUCKS to the CrimsonCard Office at crimsoncard.iu.edu. You will be responsible for all purchases made with your I-BUCKS until the time when your CrimsonCard is reported lost or stolen.
  6. Charges for meal plans are based on a declining balance.
  7. You may add additional I-BUCKS to your meal plan during the Contract Term in increments of $5 with a minimum of $25. No additional operational costs are charged for I-BUCKS 60 plans.

Cancellation Terms and Fees

  1. If you are required to have a meal plan per the terms of your housing contract and move out of residence halls, but remain enrolled, you may choose to keep your meal plan in force through the Contract Term.
  2. If you choose to cancel, you may request to cancel this contract online. If you are unable to complete this process online, contact dining services at dining@indiana.edu or call 812-856-1515.
  3. Cancellation fees are set forth below. Before you make a decision to cancel, make sure you understand the charges that will be assessed.
    1. If you request to cancel your summer meal plan prior to May 1, 2020, there is no cancellation fee.
    2. You will be charged for I-BUCKS used, plus the Summer semester’s operational costs as a cancellation fee if you:
      • were not required to have a meal plan and chose to cancel,
      • move into a fraternity/sorority house, or
      • move into an off-campus residence, or
      • are suspended or expelled from university housing, but remain enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington, or
      • withdraw from Indiana University Bloomington, or
      • are suspended, expelled, or academically dismissed from the university.
