Craving a dairy-free companion to your cookies or cereal? Thanks to a startup named Uproot, alternative milk is more accessible than ever in our dining halls.
Uproot’s plant-based milk dispensers have set up shop at McNutt and Forest Dining Halls and Goodbody, Read, and Collins Eateries. The dispensers offer three plant-based milk options: organic oat milk, chocolate-flavored pea milk, and non-GMO soy milk.
- Organic Oat Milk: Made with organic oats, this milk not only brings you nutrition but also sustainability in each sip.
- Chocolate Pea Milk: This milk combines yellow field peas with fair-trade cocoa, offering a tasty alternative to traditional dairy chocolate milk.
- Non-GMO Soy Milk: Power-packed with 50% more protein than SILK soymilk and 50% less sugar than regular dairy milk, this soy milk is a fantastic source of plant-based nutrition.
Founded in 2019 by Kevin Eve and Jacob Conway, Uproot’s mission is to distribute alternative milk dispensers to college campuses and beyond. Their plant milks are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan and certified Kosher by Orthodox Union.
And if you’re wondering about the environmental impact, plant-based milks release 72% less greenhouse gases, have a 93% lower water footprint, and use 93% less land compared with traditional cow’s milk.
