Ramadan 2024 is observed from March 11 to April 9.
IU students who observe this annual month of fasting, reflection, prayer, and community can find times and locations for the suhoor meal (before dawn, prior to fasting hours) and the iftar meal (after sunset to break the fast) below. All locations offer a variety of vegetarian options.
C-Store options
This year, for the first time, all three Campus Stores will offer the following for combo meals during Ramadan:
- Tasty Bite and Saffron Road shelf-stable entrees with a drink and side (Annie Chun’s Sticky Rice) equal one combo meal.
- Saffron Road frozen entrees, Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Poblano Enchiladas, frozen Just Butter Chicken, Just Chicken Tikk, ‘Just Chicken Biryani, and Just Paneer Tikka Masala come with a drink to equal one combo meal.
McNutt Store: Open until 10 p.m. daily
Union Street Market: Open until 8:45 p.m. daily
Briscoe Store: Open until 9 p.m. Fridays; midnight other days of the week
Globe IMU: open 11am-2pm daily 2pm daily (those fasting could get takeout meal at lunch, and eat it after sundown)
Halal proteins
- Halal chicken can be found at the Forest Worry Free concept.
- All concepts at Read will serve Halal chicken throughout Ramadan.
- At McNutt’s Free From IX, hot entrees containing beef & chicken are always certified halal.

Carry-out locations
- Collins and Goodbody Eateries: 7 a.m.–8 p.m., weekdays

- The Globe concept at Eigenmann: 5:30–8:30 p.m., weekdays

- Lantern: Open until 9 p.m. every day but Saturday
