On Thursday, November 9 from 4 p.m. to close, grab a friend or just grab a plate and enjoy early, allergen-free Thanksgiving favorites at dining locations across campus.
Free From IX station in McNutt Dining Hall is offering a special Thanksgiving dinner that is designed for our students with food allergies and dietary restrictions, but open to all. Featured entrees include roasted turkey and roasted butternut squash with dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, green beans, yams, and corn on the side and cinnamon baked apples for dessert. All are prepared free from the major nine allergens (dairy, soy, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish/shellfish, sesame) by staff with special training on how to safely prepare food without those ingredients.
Forest Dining Hall will offer vegan corn pudding (allergens: gluten, coconut) and allergen-free roasted turkey and twice baked vegan sweet potatoes. Worry Free at Forest will offer Thanksgiving menu items that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and peanut- and tree-nut free. These items include roasted turkey with gluten-free gravy, allergen-free mashed potatoes, and green beans.
In addition to the traditional roasted turkey, Goodbody and Collins Eateries will offer vegan stuffed acorn squash as an entrée option.
IU Dining Chefs Jack, Carrie, Darren, and their teams hope you enjoy the allergen-friendly alternatives to the regular Thanksgiving items served at McNutt, Forest, Collins, and Goodbody.
