Allergen-friendly, residence hall-friendly overnight oats

Overnight oats recipe
  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Total time: 2+ hours

Ingredients

  • ½ cup gluten-free oats
  • ¾ cup oat milk (or other favorite milk or milk substitute)
  • ¾ tablespoons maple syrup, agave, or honey
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax meal (optional, but recommended)

Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients in small glass bowl or jar.

2. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours or overnight.

3. Enjoy plain or add toppings (see below for ideas)!

Shelf life is four or five days.

Ideas for toppings

Sunbutter & Jam

  • 1 tablespoon jam/fruit preserves
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower butter
  • ¼ cup diced fresh berries

 

This is Bananas

  • 1 mashed or sliced banana
  • 3 tablespoons raisins
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Apple Pie

  • 3 tablespoons raisins
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup allergen-safe granola

Coconut Chocolate Chip

  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons allergen-friendly chocolate chips
