An inclusive Halloween
Halloween can present difficulties for individuals dealing with food allergies. The Teal Pumpkin Project, which launched in 2012, aims to ensure everyone can enjoy a safe and healthy celebration. If you have allergies or special dietary needs, you may have personally benefited from this initiative during your childhood. Currently, the program is implemented in all 50 states of the United States and six other countries.
Participating is easy: showcase a pumpkin in a shade of teal and provide non-edible items for those who are out trick-or-treating. No time to paint a pumpkin? Check out the Teal Pumpkin Project toolkit online for coloring and activity sheets, signs and flyers, and tips for staying safe on Halloween.
Consider participating in the project this Halloween season as you celebrate with friends and members of the local community. By doing so, you can raise awareness among your peers and contribute to the growth of this tradition.
